Rep. Farenthold Holds Roundtable in Port Lavaca

Rep. Blake Farenthold (TX-27) held a roundtable meeting in Port Lavaca today. More than 30 residents attended to hear from the Congressman and to ask him various questions. Also in attendance were Mayor Jack Whitlow, Commissioner Roger Galvan and Superintendent Dr. James Cowley.

Some of the items discussed at the meeting included growing the economy, border security and voter fraud. Local residents also voiced concern over improvements to the port and maintaining beach fronts in Port Lavaca, trade promotion authority and issues with the VA.

Rep. Farenthold released the following statement after attending the meeting:

"It's always great talking to people about the issues affecting their families and community. Hearing common sense Texas solutions beats the D.C. political nonsense every day.

Congressman Farenthold told residents he will return to Port Lavaca in August to explore all options to assist the local governments with the best approach to maintain local beaches.
